'The Blossoming of Lilac'
Jazmin Reid’s series, ‘The Blossoming of Lilac’, follows on from her previous work, ‘Dissonance Amidst our Harmony’, where she explored her outlook on the world and the current political climate.
In this project she looks within herself and uses abstract long exposure self-portraiture to explore emotional themes which she has experienced within her life through a narrative.
This body of work was made in collaboration with American musician, Gabriel Watson (Professionally known as ‘Gab Wat’), who’s emotional score guides the narrative of the project. Photography, Performance Art, Poetry, and Music are combined to fully immerse the viewer in the experience.
